Three commercial keywords. Three separate service lines. One channel. For a global software development company competing in a crowded B2B market, ranking on Google for high-intent terms like “software development companies in Europe” usually means months of conventional SEO or an ongoing paid search budget. Reddit got there faster — and it did it three times over, in three different niches, from the same playbook.
Client
The client is a global software development company built to serve enterprise buyers across the US and Europe. Its work spans custom software development, cloud consulting, data and analytics (including data warehouse consulting), and AI/ML and computer vision development — putting it in competition for visibility across several very different buyer journeys at once.
Goal
Rank Reddit posts on Google’s first page for a set of priority B2B keywords spanning three separate service lines, build brand visibility with the target audience on Reddit itself, and get cited in AI-generated answers for the same service queries.
Task
Identify commercial B2B search terms with genuine buying intent for each of the client’s core service lines, then build and place Reddit content capable of outranking established competitor and directory content — in three different niches at once, not just one.
Platform: Reddit
Niche: IT outsourcing / B2B (Europe & US)
Queries: “data warehouse consulting services” · “software development companies in Europe” · “computer vision development services”
Strategy
Rather than picking one flagship keyword and pouring resources into it, the approach here was deliberately parallel: three commercial queries, three service lines, three subreddits, run at the same time.
Phase 1. Mapping the keyword set to the business
The starting point wasn’t a single branded term — it was three separate commercial B2B queries, each mapped directly onto one of the client’s core service lines: data warehouse consulting, software development outsourcing, and computer vision development. Each keyword represents a different buyer moment, from a data team evaluating consultants to a founder shortlisting a European dev shop.
Phase 2. Placing content where the audience already is
Each post went into the subreddit where its specific audience already gathers, not a generic marketing or startup community: r/fintech for the data warehouse consulting angle, r/learnmachinelearning for the software development companies in Europe query, and r/website for computer vision development services. Matching venue to intent is what let three very different B2B audiences each find a post that read as relevant to them specifically.
Phase 3. Building enough signal to rank, three times over
None of the three threads coasted on simply existing in a relevant subreddit. Each needed sustained engagement to accumulate the ranking signals Google rewards — and for the software development query, that meant a visible climb: the post entered Google’s top 3 first, then moved into the #1 spot as engagement continued to build.
Results
Data warehouse consulting services — straight to #1
The r/fintech post took the first position in Google for “data warehouse consulting services” — a query with direct enterprise buying intent.
Software development companies in Europe — from top 3 to #1
The r/learnmachinelearning post entered the top 3 first, then climbed to the #1 position in Google for “software development companies in Europe” as engagement built — displacing established directories and competitor listings in the process.
Computer vision development services — page one, then an AI citation
The r/website post reached Google’s first page for “computer vision development services” and later began appearing as a source in AI-generated answers — one of the first B2B IT-outsourcing cases where a Reddit thread fed directly into an AI answer for a technical service query.
Result: two of three posts reached #1, all three landed on page one, and one earned an AI citation — across three unrelated B2B service queries run in parallel.
Why It Worked
B2B search behavior on Reddit doesn’t look that different from consumer search behavior — buyers still cross-check vendor claims against unfiltered opinions before they’ll take a sales call. Google has increasingly rewarded that instinct by surfacing Reddit threads for commercial research queries, even in enterprise-sounding niches like data warehouse consulting or computer vision development, categories that used to be dominated by dense, keyword-stuffed vendor pages.
Running three keyword tracks in parallel, rather than concentrating effort on a single flagship term, also reduced the risk profile of the whole campaign: no single subreddit or query had to carry the entire result. And because AI systems increasingly draw from the same highly-ranked Reddit threads that Google surfaces, the same content investment that won search visibility for computer vision development services also became a citable source when someone asked an AI system about the client’s services directly.
Conclusion
Three commercial B2B keywords, three subreddits, one coordinated approach — and two #1 rankings plus an AI citation to show for it. For a company selling complex enterprise services across multiple lines, that’s proof Reddit isn’t just a channel for consumer brands or single hero keywords: it scales across service lines as long as each post is placed where its specific buyer already spends time.
